Kim Matras – President
Kim grew up moving around the country, but claims Charleston as home. Currently she is Assistant Director of Recruitment at Northwestern Mutual. Kim is a licensed CA attorney, and also has a background in film production owning her own independent film production company, Queen Bee Productions, LLC.
Steve Burton – Vice President
Steve Burton is the President & CEO of First Choice Health Systems. Under Steve’s leadership, FCHS has grown from operating one program to now operating six. His background is in mental health treatment and working with at-risk youth and families in crisis. He specializes in community relations and financial sustainability of non-profits.
Ashley French – Secretary
Ashely French is a native of Charleston, West Virginia and resides in Charleston with her husband and daughter. She graduated from West Virginia University School of Law and has been practicing law since 2002. Ashley is currently a Partner at Dinsmore Law Firm’s Charleston office.
Amy Teter – Treasurer
Ms. Teter spent ten years as an economic consultant before pursuing her passion of becoming a Pilates instructor. Amy is the founder and owner of Centered (Pilates/Barre/Suspension Training) located at 108 Capitol Street in downtown Charleston, WV. She is proudly serving as Treasurer of the Pollen8 Board of Directors, as she strongly believes that this nonprofit shares her vision of creating a happier, healthier West Virginia.
Mrs. Kesler has over 25 years of experience in child welfare and education. She is a licensed social worker with a Master’s Degree in counseling and is currently the Director of Permanency Services with the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia’s statewide foster care and adoption programs.
Jordan McBride is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Multi-Disciplinary Studies and Master of Arts in Elementary Education. She completed Her Leadership Certification through Marshall University. Ms. McBride currently serves as the principal at Richmond Elementary in South Charleston, WV. She was a classroom teacher for 8 years before serving as an Assistant Principal for two years.
Crystal Good is an artist, advocate and entrepreneur. In all her ventures she uses language and dialogue to explore the landscape of Appalachia as a lens into the universe. Crystal has recently thrown her hat into the lobbying arena and will be an excellent political advocate for Pollen8, Inc.
Ashley Lewis is the Clinical Coordinator and Instructor at BridgeValley Community and Technical College in the Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies program. She specializes in Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Addictions Counseling with a Master of Arts in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Health Science, and Associate in Applied Science in Community Behavioral Health Technology. She is the advisor of the Paradigm Pioneers, a student organization that promotes education, awareness, recovery, and shifting the old perception of mental and behavioral disabilities.
Jennifer is a graduate of The Art Institute of Colorado at Denver with an Associate Degree in Photography. She worked as a graphic designer for the beloved Stone and Thomas and as Sales Coordinator for West Virginia Radio Corporation, Inc., before heading the Advertising and Public Relations Department for Weight Watchers of West Virginia, Inc. for 13 years. Ms. Mize will graduate from West Virginia State University in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
